第三天 : 2003年 2月4日

列车2203次由南昌开往西安，途经平顶山东站。在到达平顶山东前的一站，列车在前聂站停了下来。在早上10:00，列车终于到达平顶山东站。我们的朋友，赵先生等候我们。之后我们入住香山大酒店。一个双人房的价钱是每天100元。对我们来说，这是一个合理的价钱，因为它的设备及环境则相当好。我们觉得十分满意及喜欢。

午善后，我们出发去拍照。我们主要的拍摄点是车库及货运编组场。我们先进了一个火车站(主要用作运输工人去煤矿)，坐上了一列由上游蒸汽机车牵引的客车。这是我第一次乘搭蒸汽机车牵引的列车啊!

在车库里，我们看到很多蒸汽机车，有QJ，JS及SY。很多都在营运中，及有数台是被弃置的。

参观车库后，我们沿铁路走，去找寻其它的蒸汽机。幸运地，我们被邀请乘搭建设型蒸汽机车走了一段路。在驾驶室内，我们可以感到热力从涡炉里散发出来，令人感到十分温暖。当机车头在行驶时，十分癫波。你很难想象那种震动的利害，但如身处在客车厢内我想就就很难感受到那种震动。

约下午6:00，我们回去酒店，那天我拍了很多美丽的照片。

Day 3 : 04-Feb-2003

The train (2203 from Nam Chang 南昌 ) was going to Xian (西安) and would stop at Pingdingshan Dung station. Before reaching Pingdingshan, our train stopped at a station called “QianYi - 前聂“. After 1.5 hours, the train reached Pingdingshan Dung station 平顶山东. Our friend – Mr. Chiu was waiting for us. We then settled in a hotel that called “香山大廈”. A double room cost RMB 100 per night. It was a reasonable price for us as the room was well equipped and in good condition. Both of us liked it very much.

After we had had our lunch, we went to take photos. Our main spot was the depot and the shedding area. We went to a railway station (which took the workers to the coal mine) and we got on a passenger coach that was hauled by a SY engine. It was the first time that I took a train that hauled by a Steam engine.

Inside the depot, a lot of steam engines were seen, like QJ, JS and SY. Some are live steam and only a few of them were dumped.

After visiting the depot, we walked along the track to see other steam engines and luckily we were invited to ride on a JS Steam loco for a distance. The heat that radiated from the boiler made us feel very warm. As the engine was moving, it kept shaking! You can’t imagine how shaking the loco is very shaking when in motion but you will not feel this when you are inside the passenger coaches.

At about 6:00pm, we returned to the hotel. We took a lot of good photos that day.
